Start here — getting started
The two articles new merchants read first — a tour of the portal and a setup checklist.
Brand new? Your Home dashboard now leads with Set up payments — the two things that have to happen before anything else earns you money: getting card payments activated on your account, and getting hardware to take them on. Start there. It's fine to do it in stages: once you've begun, that first row reads Continue setting up payments and takes you back to your own checklist rather than starting over. After you send your application the same row keeps you posted — it says whether it's being checked, whether our payments partner needs something more from you, or that payments are set up. (Already set up and taking payments? Ask support to switch that card off and it won't show on your dashboard any more.)
- Getting paid: set up payments — confirm your business and bank details so we can activate card payments.
Then read these two, in order.
- Welcome to your portal — a quick tour of the sidebar and how the portal connects to your tills.
- Your first steps — the setup checklist: company details, items, a paired device, and your first sale. It lives in the Set up your POS card on your dashboard, which is collapsed by default now that payments comes first — click its header to open it. Each row ticks when the thing it names actually works, not when you have started it: Set up bookings, for example, waits until a booking setup has a section attached, because a setup with none can take no bookings.
If you run more than one location
Home gets a Location dropdown under the welcome line. Leave it on All locations for the whole business, or pick a site and the three figures at the top — takings, transactions, average basket — plus the revenue and transactions charts all narrow to that site. (Sales by menu and Loyalty members always show the whole business.) Your choice stays in the page address, so you can bookmark one venue's dashboard or send the link to whoever runs it.
Accounts with a single location don't get the dropdown at all: there is nothing to choose between, so the figures are simply your whole business.
Handy along the way
- Find things with sidebar search
- I don't see a section I expected
- How the portal relates to your tills
- Set up with AI — the optional AI helper on your dashboard.
