How the portal relates to your tills

The portal is the admin side. Your tills and terminals are separate devices that you pair to your account. Once paired, a device pulls its menu, its operating mode, and its settings from what you've configured in the portal. When you change a menu or a setting here, your devices pick it up — you don't reconfigure each device by hand.

To get a device working you pair it once (see Devices) and assign it a mode and a location. After that, the day-to-day changes you make in the portal flow out to it.

There are two ways to link a device. A pairing code is generated for you, works once and lasts 3 minutes, which suits a single device. A join code is 8 digits you choose yourself and can reuse until you change or remove it, which suits setting up several at once.
