Set up with AI

The optional AI setup helper on your dashboard — what it does and when to use it.

Every account has an AI setup helper. A Set up with AI card appears on your Home dashboard, below Set up payments and the Set up your POS checklist. It only shows until you've set a business name. It interviews you, lets you upload documents like a menu or an opening-hours photo, and drafts your setup for you to review before anything is saved.

It's entirely optional — you can always set everything up by hand using Your first steps.

What it sets up for you

You review and can edit everything before anything is saved. Depending on how you take orders, it drafts:

  • Your business details — name and trading address.
  • A menu — sections and items, pulled from a menu you upload or described in the chat. New items are given your standard VAT rate — always check each item's VAT afterwards in Items → Products, as some (for example cold takeaway food) may need a different rate.
  • Opening hours — a standard hours profile for your week.
  • Tables — if you run table service, a floor plan of areas and tables, so your till doesn't open on an empty floor. Edit it later in Tables.
  • A kitchen station — if Kitchen Display is on for your account, a Kitchen station with your menu categories routed to it. Rename it, add more stations or change the routing later in Stations.

When it's done you get a receipt listing exactly what was created, with a link to each one.

Note

The card disappears once you've set a business name — that's the only reason it wouldn't be on your dashboard. You can still set everything up by hand with Your first steps.

What's next

  • Your first steps — the manual checklist.
  • The dashboard's own figures: if you run more than one location, the Location dropdown under the welcome line narrows the takings, transaction count, average basket and revenue chart to one site. See Start here.
