Location links
Give each site its own direct booking link, close a section for a window, or close the whole site for a day.
Each site gets its own direct booking link, so you can point customers straight at the right venue. Open Bookings → Location links.
Note
Location links are part of Bookings Pro. If you don't see the row in the menu, or the page tells you it is part of Bookings Pro, ask your account manager to add it — the rest of Bookings is unaffected.
The list shows every site with its link and whether it is taking bookings. Open one to change its link, point at its opening hours, close a section for part of a day, or close the whole site for a whole date.
A direct link per site
Every site already has a working link, before you set anything up. We build it from the site's name, and it shows on the list with a Copy button.
To choose your own instead, open the site and use the Booking link tab:
- Type the ending you want. The full address is your main booking address with this ending on it. The rules are the same as your main address — lowercase letters, digits and hyphens, 3 to 48 characters.
- Turn Accepting bookings on or off for this site.
Note
A few endings are already used by the booking pages themselves — manage, cancel, embed and preorder. If you pick one of those we tell you, because a link using it would open the wrong page. Any other name is fine.
Note
A new site is on from the start. You do not have to switch anything on to take bookings there — turn it off if you want that site's page closed.
Opening hours
The Opening hours tab links you to where booking hours are set — under My business → Opening hours. Hours are shared across your booking and click and collect pages.
Close a section to bookings
The Section closures tab lets you close a section for a date or a range — for a private event, maintenance, or a one-off. A closure stops new online bookings landing in that section for the chosen time.
A booking is turned away if any part of the guest's stay falls inside the window, not just the start. So if you close the bar from 18:00 and a table is held for two hours, 17:30 stops being offered too — that guest would still be sitting there at 18:30.
- 1
Click Close a section
A short form appears.
- 2
Pick the section and dates
Choose the Section, a From date, and optionally a To date. Leave the to-date blank to close just the one day.
- 3
Choose all day or a time window
Closed all day is ticked by default. Untick it to set a From time and To time instead. If you set one time, you must set both.
Press Use opening hours to fill those two times from the hours that section already takes bookings for on that date. Pick a section and a from-date first. If the venue has no hours set for that day, it says so and you type the times yourself.
- 4
Add a reason (optional)
A short note like "Private event" or "Maintenance", up to 200 characters.
- 5
Save the closure
It appears in the list below. Remove a closure with its trash icon.
You can close the same section more than once on the same day — shut the bar for lunch and again for dinner, and it still takes bookings in between. Only an exact repeat is refused.
Heads up
A closure only affects new online bookings. Bookings already in the diary for that section and time stay put — check the diary and move or cancel them yourself if you need to.
Rooms marked "Unassigned"
If you delete a site, its rooms stay in your account. They can still take bookings, so you can still close them. They show in the Section list with Unassigned after the name, on your main site's page.
If you see two rooms with the same name and one says Unassigned, they are different rooms. Check which one you mean before you close it.
Close the whole site for a day
The Closed days tab shuts this site to online bookings for a whole date — Christmas Day, a private hire, a shutdown week. The date still appears on your booking page, but it offers no times, and customers read the message you write.
- 1
Click Close a day
A short form appears.
- 2
Pick the date
One date at a time. To close a run of days, add one for each.
- 3
Write what customers see (optional)
For example "Closed for a private event, back on the 27th", up to 200 characters. Leave it blank and customers read our standard wording.
- 4
Save the closed day
It appears in the list below. Remove puts the date back on sale.
Note
A closed day and a section closure are different tools. A section closure shuts one area, and can cover part of a day. A closed day shuts the whole site, for the whole date, and is the only one that shows customers a message.
Heads up
A closed day only stops NEW online bookings. Bookings already in the diary for that date stay put — check the diary and move or cancel them yourself. Your staff can still take a booking for a closed date on the till or by hand; this closes your online booking page, not your business.
