Add your terms and privacy notice

Set your terms and privacy notice once for your whole business — link to pages you already have, or write them here and we will host them.

Your terms and your privacy notice are set once for your whole business, and used everywhere guests deal with you: online ordering, bookings, your shop and loyalty sign-ups.

For each one you choose how guests read it. Either link to a page you already have on your own website, or write it here and we will host it for you.

Set them up

Go to Account & settings → Legal. You will find Terms and Privacy notice, each with the same two choices.

Pick Link to my own page and paste the web address. This works for every business straight away.

Write it here

Pick Write it here and type or paste your wording into the box. You can make text bold or italic, add bulleted and numbered lists, and add links. Then press Save at the top of the page.

Your loyalty scheme terms

If you run a loyalty scheme, the Legal page also has Loyalty scheme terms. We have written the wording for you; you only fill in your venue's details, preview them and publish. People who join your scheme tick a box to confirm they are 18 or over and agree to these terms, with a link to read them first. Every version you publish is kept, so you can always see what a member agreed to.

Formatting where you are. Select any text and a small toolbar appears next to it, so you do not have to scroll back up to the buttons at the top.

Indenting a list. On a bulleted or numbered line, press Tab to move it in one level and Shift + Tab to move it back out. You can go up to three levels deep, and each level gets its own marker.

Web and email addresses link themselves. Type an address like https://your-site.co.uk or bookings@your-site.co.uk and it becomes a clickable link when you click away from the box. Email addresses open the reader's mail app. If you write a short address with no https:// or www. in front of it, select it and use the link button instead — we leave those alone on purpose, so ordinary wording like "clause 3.2" is never turned into a link by mistake.

Saving publishes straight away. There is no separate publish step, so as soon as you save, that is what guests read.

Where guests read them

Each document gets its own web address, shown under the box, like /policies/your-name/terms. Guests reach it by tapping the link on your checkout. You can open the address yourself at any time to see exactly what they see.

Point your checkout at them

Once a document is published, go to the checkout settings for the way you take orders — QR code ordering, click and collect, or Collect now — and you will see two options next to each link: The page we host and Your own link.

Choose The page we host and save. Guests will now read the document you wrote.

If you have more than one site and one of them needs different terms, that site can still use its own link. Set it on that site's own settings.

Changing the wording later

Edit the text and save again. Guests see the new version immediately, and the address never changes, so you do not need to update your checkout settings.

We keep every version you publish, with the date, so there is a record of what a guest agreed to at the time they ordered. The page shows the date it was last updated.

What we do not do

We do not write your terms or privacy notice for you, and we do not provide a template. These are legal documents about your business, and the wording has to be yours. If you are not sure what they should say, speak to a solicitor or your trade association.

Your privacy notice also needs to describe how your guests' details are handled, including by us as your payment and ordering provider. Hosting the document does not make it accurate, so it is worth reading it through before you publish.
