Promotions overview

The Promotions section covers two separate tools: discounts (money-off rules staff apply at the till) and gift cards (prepaid vouchers a customer buys and later spends). They're different jobs, so pick by what you're doing:

• Want money off a bill? → discounts.
• Selling stored value? → gift cards.

Discounts

• Set up discounts — the core create/manage flow, including which staff roles may apply each discount.
• Discount types and passcodes — the four types, when to use each, and gating with a passcode.
• Scope and limits — one site vs all sites (each terminal now syncs only its own site's discounts plus the all-sites ones), and why there's no time window or category filter.

Gift cards
