The sales log
The list of every sale your terminals took, with search, sort, paging and export.
The sales log lists every sale taken on your terminals — approved, declined and cancelled. It's where you check what was sold, on which device, and how it was paid.
Find it under Reports → Transactions in the sidebar, or on the Transactions tile on the Reports page. Without table service, the Transactions entry at the top of the sidebar opens the same list.
Note
If you run table service, the list adds a couple of table-focused columns. Table Management → Tables Served no longer carries the list: it shows the latest bill and today's tables, with a link here.
What the page shows
At the top you get a quick read on the day:
- Approved sales — how many went through, and the total taken.
- Discounts given — how much you discounted across approved sales.
- Not approved — how many were declined or cancelled.
Table-service venues find a Today's tables panel — each table served today, with bills, money taken and when it was last served — plus a card featuring the latest bill, on Table Management → Tables Served.
The list itself shows the 200 most recent sales.
If you run more than one site
A Location dropdown sits beside the page description. Pick a site and the whole page follows it — the figures at the top and the list are all recalculated for that site alone, not just filtered on screen. A Site column appears on each row (and in the export), and you can type a site name into the search box.
Choose All locations to go back to everything. Sales paid online carry no site — they show as Not recorded under All locations, and they are never counted towards an individual site.
On Tables Served, the Today's tables panel covers every site, so it is hidden while a site filter is on there.
Your choice is kept in the page address, so you can bookmark a site's sales log or send someone the link.
Note
This section only applies if you have more than one location. With a single location there is nothing to choose between, so none of it appears.
The columns
Each row shows the order number, when it was paid, its status, the total (with any discount), a summary of items, the device, and the card scheme. Table-service venues also see the Table and Sat down columns.
- Status is one of Approved (it went through), Declined (the payment was refused) or Cancelled (the sale was stopped). For sales that weren't approved, a short reason shows next to the status. A sale that has been refunded since shows Refunded, or Part refunded if only some of it was given back — card and cash refunds alike.
- Total is the amount charged. A discount, if any, shows alongside.
- Staff — who was signed in when the sale was taken. Only appears if you use Staff.
"Unattributed" in the Staff column
This is normal, not a fault. It means one of:
- nobody was signed in on the device at the time — sign-in is optional unless you've locked the mode;
- staff sign-in isn't switched on for your account yet (turn it on);
- the sale was part of a split bill, or was sent to a card machine from the till — neither can be credited to one person yet.
Find a sale
- Search the list with the search box — by table, device, card, staff name or site (and order number). Searching unattributed brings up the sales with no name against them.
- Sort by clicking a column header. The list starts newest-first.
- Page through results, 50 at a time.
- Export the list to a file for your records.
Note
On a phone the list narrows to the columns that matter — order number, when it was paid, status and total. The Table and Sat-down columns (table service) come back on a wider screen.
What's not in the list
Sales taken while a till was offline and closed as "Paid on device" don't appear here — they have their own review page. See Offline card closes. This keeps your totals from double-counting.
Bills the owner closed with the Owner settle code don't appear here either. They are £0 bills with a 100% Owner settle discount: they count in item sales and show as their own line on your end-of-day, and the owner sees every one on the Owner settle page.
What's next
- Read a sale in detail — itemised breakdown, split bills, gift cards.
- Resend a receipt for a past sale — get a customer a fresh copy (on the terminal).
- Process a refund or void on the terminal.
- Offline card closes.
