Items overview
Start here — your catalogue, categories, menus, modifiers, offers and VAT, in the order most merchants set them up.
Items is where you build the catalogue you sell. A product lives in your catalogue once, then goes on one or more menus, in a category, with a VAT rate and optional modifier groups. From here you can also bulk-import a full menu from a spreadsheet.
Start here
If your account is brand new and nothing is set up yet, you may see a Get started here prompt at the top of these pages. It asks three quick questions — what to call your first menu, your first product and its price, and which category it belongs in — then creates all three and drops you into the menu builder with them already on screen. Nothing about it is compulsory: you can skip any question or close it, and it stays available until you have added something. If you already have a menu written down, the same prompt offers Import a menu instead, which takes you to the bulk importer.
The prompt disappears once your catalogue has anything in it.
