Where a product sells
Turn a product on or off per channel — till, click-and-collect, QR, shop — without deleting it.
By default, a new product is available everywhere. The Availability section on the product editor lets you hide it from one channel while keeping it live on the others — no need to delete or archive it.
The four toggles
- Till — the in-person till at the counter or the terminal.
- Click-and-collect — the public collect page customers order from.
- QR ordering — the QR-code order screens.
- Shop — your online store.
Turning a toggle off hides the product from that channel only. Turn it back on any time.
Note
Switching Till off takes effect once your terminals are on the current app version. The online channels — collect, QR and shop — update straight away. If a product is still showing on a till after you've hidden it, check that terminal's app version first.
Tip
Need to hide a product for part of the day instead of a whole channel — breakfast until 11am, say? Below the three toggles, pick an availability profile instead. See Availability profiles.
A product with no fixed price sells on the till only
When Price is set at the till is on, click-and-collect, QR ordering and the shop switch off and lock — there is no price for a customer to pay. Show on till is still yours. See Product price and VAT.
Availability vs archive vs delete
- Availability off — the product still exists and stays on menus, but doesn't show on the switched-off channel. Use it for "not for online", "counter-only", or seasonal takeaway.
- Archive — the product is hidden from every channel and every menu at once, but you can Restore it later. Use it for the winter menu you'll bring back.
- Delete — the product is gone for good.
Menus vs availability
Availability is the switch for channels. What menus a product sits on is a separate choice — you tick each menu in the Menus section of the editor. A product can be on a menu but hidden from a channel; both have to be on for it to show at the till (or QR, collect, or the shop).
See Build a menu for placing products on menus.
The category you pick for each menu matters beyond grouping: with Modifier flows switched on, it also decides how the till asks for the product's modifiers on that menu, unless the product overrides it. See Create a product.
Your online shop prices separately
Show in shop decides whether a product appears in your online shop. What it costs there is a separate question: the shop uses the base price unless you set an Online shop price on the product, and it never uses a per-menu price override. See Product price and VAT.
What's next
- Create a product — the core steps.
- Per-menu price override — charge a different price on a specific menu.
- Build a menu — arrange products into a menu.
