Availability profiles

Build a reusable time window (e.g. Breakfast, or Mon–Fri lunch) and pick it on a product or offer to hide it outside that window automatically.

If a product is only meant to sell for part of the day — breakfast until 11am, a lunch special that stops at 3pm, a weekday-only lunch deal — an availability profile does the hiding for you. Build the time window once, choose the days it applies on, pick it on the product, and it comes off every menu on its own once the window closes: the till, Favourites, kitchen display additions, QR ordering, and click & collect.

Find it under Store settings → Availability profiles.

Profiles are shared. The same profile can time-box a product and an offer, and you can build one from either place — the New profile button here, or the same wizard inside an offer's When can guests get it? step. Wherever you make it, it lands in this list, and editing its window here updates everything using it. See Offers and meal deals for timing an offer.

Create a profile

  1. 1

    Open Availability profiles

From the sidebar, go to Store settings → Availability profiles.

  2. 2

    Click New profile

Give it a name (e.g. Breakfast, Lunch, Happy hour) and set a start and end time. Every day of the week starts ticked — untick the days the window shouldn't apply on (untick Saturday and Sunday for a Monday-to-Friday lunch). At least one day has to stay ticked.

  3. 3

    Pick it on a product

On the product's edit page, choose the profile from the Availability field. Leave it set to "Always available" for a product with no time restriction.

The list shows each profile's days and times at a glance — "Mon–Fri 11:00–17:00", or just the times when it runs every day.

Note

A profile is reusable. Build "Breakfast" once and pick it on every breakfast item; change the profile's times later and every item using it updates together.

Assign to several products at once

On the Products list, select the products you want (checkboxes on the left), click Edit, then choose Availability profile. Pick a profile — or "Always available" to clear it — and Apply; it's set on every selected product immediately.

Days of the week

A profile can be limited to certain days: tick the days it applies on when you create it, or change them later with the pencil icon. On an unticked day the product (or offer) simply doesn't show, the same as outside the time window. Leave every day ticked for a window that runs daily.

Overnight windows

If a window runs past midnight — a late-night menu from 10pm to 2am, say — set the end time earlier than the start time. The product stays available from the start time through midnight and on to the end time the next day.

For an overnight window, the ticked days are the days it starts on. Tick Friday for a Friday 10pm–2am window and it runs into the early hours of Saturday; you don't need to tick Saturday as well.

What "hidden" means

Outside its window, the product simply doesn't appear — on the till, in Favourites, on the kitchen display's add-item screen, or on your QR/collect online menu. It isn't archived and nothing about the product itself changes; it comes back on its own once the window opens again.

It happens on the minute, by itself. A till or card machine left on the menu all day doesn't need restarting or refreshing: at 11:00 the breakfast items go, at the start of lunch the lunch items appear.

Anything already rung up when a window closes stays — a line in the basket, or on an open tab, is still there and is charged as normal. The window only stops new ones being added.

Note

If you set a window on a product a while ago and never saw it hide anything, check it's still the window you want: once your devices are on the latest update it takes effect on the minute, every day. Days of the week work the same way — a till needs the update that understands them before it starts hiding a Mon–Fri item at the weekend; until then it shows every day within the time window.

Heads up

A combo/bundle that includes a scheduled product is not hidden by the product's window — bundles don't currently look at availability profiles. If you need a bundle to disappear too, don't put a time-restricted item inside it yet.

Profiles on offers

An offer (a meal deal or a multibuy) can carry a profile too, and it behaves the same way: outside the window the offer drops off the till's Offers tab, and an offer that prices itself automatically stops doing so. A profile you build from inside an offer is the same shared profile as any other — it appears in the list above and you can pick it on products.

One difference worth knowing: an offer's window is about the OFFER, not its parts. Timing an offer doesn't hide the products inside it — those keep their own profiles, or none.

Profiles and channel availability

These are two different switches and they stack. A profile hides a product outside a daily window, on every channel at once. The Availability toggles above it — till, click-and-collect, QR ordering, shop — hide it from one channel regardless of the time. A product shows only when both agree: the channel is on and you're inside the window.

The same goes for an option that counts as this product (in Items → Modifiers): outside the window, or on a channel where the product is switched off, the option is hidden too.

It does not touch the shop price

The window controls when a product is on sale, never what it costs. A product with its own Online shop price keeps that price; outside the window it is simply not in the shop, and inside it the shop price applies as normal.

Delete a profile

Deleting a profile doesn't delete the products using it — they just go back to always available, the same as if you'd set them to "Always available" yourself.
