Reveal or remove a passcode

See a forgotten PIN or delete a passcode from your list.

Forgotten a code? Where you look depends on whose it is.

A shared passcode

On Store settings → Passcodes, click Reveal on its row to see it. Codes are stored encrypted and only shown when you ask.

Note

A passcode created before the Reveal feature existed can't be revealed, because no readable copy was kept. If you can't reveal one, delete it and create a new one.

To remove a passcode, use the delete action on its row. If the passcode protects any discounts, the confirmation tells you how many — deleting it removes that protection, and those discounts stop asking for a passcode.

A person's PIN

Open the person under Staff → Staff and click Show next to their PIN. It shows for 15 seconds. Only the account owner and admins see Show. A Manager can set a new PIN for the person but cannot see the current one.

A PIN set before this screen may be longer than four digits. It still works, and Show displays it in full.

There is no "remove PIN". To stop someone signing in, untick Active on their profile, or archive them if they have left. See A person's profile.

If your menu still shows Staff members and People

Until your account is switched to the one Staff list, a person's PIN is a passcode of type Staff and is listed on the Passcodes page with their name beside it. Reveal or delete it there like any other.
