Add a QR code to a table

Generate, download, print and refresh a per-table QR code so customers can scan and order from their phone.

If QR ordering is switched on for your account, each table row on the Tables page carries its own QR code. Manage them right there, so you can sort it without leaving the table you're looking at.

For the customer side of the flow, see Table ordering by QR code.

Create and print a code

  1. 1

    Create the code

On a table with no code yet, click Create QR. The code is generated instantly — there's no separate save step. The row then shows the code's public web address with Copy, Refresh and Download controls next to it.

  2. 2

    Download it

Click Download to save the code as an image (a PNG) to your computer.

  3. 3

    Print and place it

Print the downloaded image and put it on the table — a table tent, a sticker, or a stand. The code is live the moment it's created.

You can also Copy the code's web address if you'd rather paste it into your own poster or print template.

Test a code

Scan it with a phone camera. You should land on your menu and be able to start an order against that table. If you instead see "Ordering isn't available", you have no menu yet — see the warning below.

Rotate (refresh) a code

Refresh mints a brand-new code for the table and invalidates the old one — any already-printed copies of that table's code stop working. Use it deliberately: to retire a code you think has been misused, for example. After refreshing, download and reprint the new code so the table has a working one again.

Heads up

If QR ordering is on but you haven't created a menu yet, anyone who scans a table QR code will see "Ordering isn't available". Create a menu under Items to fix it.
