Set up your tables
Create the real tables in your venue, set their seats and section, and understand the Tables list.
Your tables are the real tables in your venue. Once you've defined them here, each one shows as a tile on your terminal home screen for staff to open a tab against.
An amber panel can appear above the list when a tab has been left open too long — see Close a tab that got left open.
Note
Tables need Table service switched on for your account. If you don't see the Tables page, ask your account manager.
From the sidebar, open Table Management, then Tables.
Create a table
- 1
Add a table
Use the create control on the Tables page to add a new table.
- 2
Give it a label
The label is what staff see on the terminal tile and what appears on the bill — for example "Table 4" or "T4".
- 3
Set the number of seats (optional)
Recording seats helps staff and reads through to your service view.
- 4
Choose a section (optional)
Putting a table in a section (Bar, Dining room…) groups it. See Sections.
- 5
Record whether it's accessible (optional)
Step-free access is about getting to the table — can someone reach it without steps? Wheelchair space is about the table itself — is there room for a wheelchair at it? A table can be one and not the other.
Note
Not recorded is a real answer, not a blank. It means nobody has checked, and we stay quiet about that table. We only warn a host when you have recorded No and they seat a party who needs it. So it is worth walking your tables once — until you do, the warning has nothing to work from.
The Tables list
The list shows your seatable tables with their section, seats and location. A few things to know about the columns:
- Section shows the section the table is linked to. Linking a table to a section is what groups it and ties it to a location.
- Location is read-only here. A table gets its location from its section — you don't set it directly on the table. A table with no section has no location.
- The list sorts naturally, so "Bar 1 … Bar 10" reads in the order you'd expect rather than "Bar 1, Bar 10, Bar 2".
Decorative items you place on a floor plan (a bar, a counter, a wall) are not shown in this list — it's only for real tables that can host a tab. Manage those in the floor plan builder.
What's next
- Add a QR code to a table — per-table QR ordering.
- Sections — group tables.
- Floor plans — arrange these tables on a canvas.
- Open tabs — control whether terminals can run tabs.
