Put a terminal on a table

Say which table each Leave-at-table card machine sits on, and why one table only ever takes one machine.

A Leave-at-table machine sits on one specific table, and it needs to know which one. That is what everything else hangs off: the tab it opens is that table's tab, and it can only take payment for that table and nothing else.

Find it under Leave at table → Devices. Every terminal paired to your account is listed, one card each, with the table it is currently on shown on the right.

  1. 1

    Pick the table

On the terminal's card, open the Table list and choose the table the machine is sitting on.

  2. 2

    Save that row

Click Save on that card. Each terminal saves on its own, so you can do one and come back for the rest.

  3. 3

    Check it took

The heading on the right updates to the table you picked.

One table, one machine

A table can only have one machine on it. Two machines on the same table would both think they own that table's order, and one party would end up looking at the other's items.

So if you pick a table that already has a machine on it, the save is refused and the message names the machine that is there. Move that one off first — set it to Not on a table, or put it on the table it has actually moved to — then come back.

Tables already taken are shown in the list with (taken) after the name, so you can see where the other machines are without hunting for them.

Only real tables

The list only offers places a guest actually sits: tables, counters, bar positions and stools. Your floor plan can also contain walls, doors and decoration, and those never appear here — a machine on a decorative plant pot would open an order nobody can find.

Taking a machine off a table

Choose Not on a table and save. Do that before you delete or move that table on your floor plan: while a machine is on a table, the table cannot be deleted.

Heads up

Binding a table is not the last step. Until the acknowledgement on the Setup page is ticked, no terminal will start the guest flow — the Devices page reminds you when it is missing.

If a terminal is not listed

Only terminals appear here, and only ones that are currently paired. A till is not listed: there is no guest flow on a till. If a machine is missing, pair it first on the Devices page under Settings, then come back.

If you have more than one site

When you run more than one site, this page shows the terminals and tables at the site picked under the Tillable logo, and each one says which site it is at. A terminal is only ever offered tables at its own site. It can never be put on another site's table, because it would then take that table's payments.
