Tables, Tabs, Floor plans or QR settings don't appear

A symptom-by-symptom guide to the features that go missing when a module isn't switched on, and exactly what to ask for.

Most "I can't find the table-service settings" problems come down to one thing: a module isn't switched on for your account. The features are gated, so the sidebar item simply doesn't appear until the module is enabled — there's no greyed-out "ask to unlock" state, it's just absent.

Use the table below to match what's missing to what to ask for. Modules are enabled by the Tillable team — ask your account manager (or contact support) to switch on the named feature. See Turn on table service and QR ordering for the wider picture.

Symptom → cause → what to do

  • No Tables / Table Management section in the sidebar → Table service isn't on. Ask for Table service. Once on, you'll see Table Management with Tables Served (the latest bill and today's tables — every individual sale is in Reports → Transactions), Tables and Tabs. (Table board comes with a separate module, Table Studio. See the next entry.)

  • Table Management is there, but no Table board → the Table board comes with its own module, Table Studio. It isn't included with Table service. Ask for Table Studio. It's separate on purpose: the board can only show food going out if your kitchen has a screen to clear tickets on, so a print-only kitchen would get a board stuck on "In kitchen". See The table board.

  • No Floor plans or Sections → these need Till and Table service both. Ask for whichever you're missing. They live under Table Management in the sidebar once enabled — they used to sit under a separate Till section, which no longer exists.

  • No Till section at all → the Till module isn't on. Ask for Till.

  • No Tabs page → Tabs lives under Table Management → Tabs and needs Table service on. If Table Management is there but Tabs isn't, mention Tabs specifically. See Open tabs.

  • No Table Ordering QR Code page → QR ordering isn't on. Ask for QR ordering (it also needs Table service, since a QR order opens a tab on a table).

  • No Terminal Campaigns → It still needs the Till module, but it no longer lives under Till: it moved to Customers → Promotions and is now called Terminal Campaigns (it was "PAC Campaigns"). See PAC Campaigns.

Once a module is switched on

When the team enables a feature, the sidebar item appears for you — you may need to reload the portal to see it. There's nothing else to install. If you've been told it's on and it still isn't showing after a reload, go back to support with your merchant name and the exact feature you were promised.

"Ordering isn't available" when a QR code is scanned

This one isn't a module problem — it's a menu problem. If a customer scans a table's QR code and sees "Ordering isn't available", you have QR ordering on but no menu for it to serve. Create a menu under Items. The default menu QR ordering serves is the menu the code points at, or — if the code isn't tied to a specific menu — the first menu in your Items → Menus list. See Which menu customers see.

QR scan shows the wrong menu or the wrong table

  • Wrong menu — check which menu sits first in Items → Menus (that's the one served when a code isn't tied to a specific menu), or point the code at the menu you want.
  • Wrong table — each per-table code points at one specific table. If an order lands on the wrong table, the printed code on that table is probably the wrong one — re-download the right table's code from Table Management → Tables and replace it.
