Locations troubleshooting

The common snags when adding or saving a location — Save disabled, missing Default mode section, can't delete.

Heads up

The Save button is disabled. Save lives in the bar at the top of the page, and it stays greyed out until you change something — so if you've only just opened the location, that's expected. Once you edit a field the bar shows Unsaved changes and Save lights up.

If you have made a change and Save still won't go through, the cause is an empty Location business name. Fill it in and Save works. Bank information, default mode, address and postcode being blank do not block Save — only the business name does. (There's no postcode-format rule either, so a blank or unusual postcode won't stop you saving.)

Note

I can't find the "Save branding" button. It's gone — branding is now part of the page's single Save at the top. Choose the branding profile, then save the page once and both the details and the branding are stored together.

I don't see the Default mode section. That's expected if you haven't created any modes yet — the section only appears once at least one mode exists. Your location still saves and devices use the Standard mode until you assign another. See Modes.

I don't see the Business day section. It only appears once we've switched business day on for your account, which is for venues that trade past midnight. If yours does, ask support. See The location detail form.

I changed the business day and last month's figures moved. That's expected. Changing when a location's day starts re-files its past sales under the new day, including monthly and VAT-period totals. Reports run live (a little slower) until the overnight rebuild finishes.

I can't delete a location. You can't delete your default location — only other sites. See Delete a location.
