Locations

Add and manage the sites you trade from — the container for devices, floor plans, opening hours and reports.

A location is a site you trade from. Floor plans, devices, opening hours and reports all attach to a location, so even a single-site business has one.

Find your sites under Account & settings → Locations. Every account starts with one default location, so you'll always have at least one here.

What a location governs

A location is the link between your sites and everything that happens at them:

  • Devices belong to a location, which is how your reports and settings know which site a sale happened at.
  • Floor plans, opening hours and reports attach to a location.
  • A location can have its own branding and its own default mode.
  • A location that trades past midnight can set when its business day starts (e.g. 03:00), so late-night sales stay on the night they belong to. See The location detail form.

This is the build-once, use-where-you-need-it idea: you set your menus, hours profiles and branding once, then point each location at the ones it should use. You don't rebuild them per site.

Saving your changes

A location's page has one Save button, in the bar at the top. It covers the whole page — the details and the branding profile together — so one click saves everything you've changed. The button stays greyed out until you actually change something, and while you have unsaved edits the bar shows Unsaved changes.

The branding profile used to have its own separate "Save branding" button. It doesn't any more: pick the profile and save the page once.

One thing is deliberately different. Pause kitchen applies the moment you switch it — it doesn't wait for Save, because during service you need it to take effect immediately.
