Take a test payment

Confirm card processing is working — a low-value real card payment you then refund.

Once you're live, the simplest check that card processing works is a real, low-value transaction you then refund.

    Ring up a small item

    On the paired terminal, add a low-value item to an order and go to pay.

    Pay by card

    Choose card and present a real card. If processing is active, the terminal prompts for the card and the payment completes.

    Check it landed in the portal

    The sale appears in the portal under Transactions (called Tables Served if you use Table Service). See Transactions.

  4. 4

    Refund the test if you used a real card

    If you charged a real card, refund the test sale from the device's Records so you're not out of pocket. (Refunds need the Refunds capability — see Modes.)
