Cross-category pairings — what sells together

Compare two categories side by side to find which items from each are bought together most.

The Cross-category pairings report compares two of your categories — say Drinks × Food — to reveal which items from each are bought together most. Use it to find upsell opportunities, like which starter goes with which cocktail. Open it from the Reports hub.

Pick two categories

There are two sides, left and right. Choose a category for each from its dropdown. The report then looks at orders that contain items from both sides and finds the strongest pairs.

Drilling into sub-categories

Categories can have sub-categories, and the picker is hierarchy-aware:

  • Choose a parent category and, by default, all its sub-categories are included (plus any items attached straight to the parent). You can untick sub-categories to narrow one side — e.g. just Cocktails on the left, all Food on the right.
  • A flat category (one with no sub-categories) resolves to its own items — there's nothing to drill into, so all its items are included.

The results

Each pairing shows the two item names, how many times they sold together (pair count), and an attach % — of the orders containing the first item, the share that also had the second. The results header also totals how often your top pairings sold together, with a change against your chosen comparison window (vs previous / vs last year, switched next to the presets — an empty comparison shows "no data to compare"). See Reports terminology for exact definitions.

Range and filters

Set the date range with the presets (Last 7 / 30 / 90 days, Last 12 months, Custom). The Terminals, Location and Floor plan filters apply, as on the other reports — see Filtering reports for how to share a link to the exact view you're looking at.

Sharing and exporting

A Share button next to the "Reports" back link copies a link to this exact category pair, range and filters. The results list has its own Export CSV button in its header, downloading the pairings you're looking at.

A blank report

If you get no results, the most common reason is that a chosen category has no items, or there were no orders containing items from both sides in the range. Pick categories that hold items, or widen the range. See Troubleshooting reports.
