Till printing — a preview of your printed reports
See exactly what your tills print — the Sales and Product sales reports and every report you designed, the Z report included — for any venue, till and period, and print it from here.
Till printing shows you exactly what prints from your till's own Reports screen — the Sales report and the Product sales report, and every report you designed and published in Report layouts (your Z report too) — without walking over to a till and printing a paper copy. In the sidebar, open Reports → Report settings, then pick Till printing under On the till; it appears once Till is switched on for your account.
The two reports
- Sales report — prints as "SALES REPORT" on the till. A balance summary (gross sales, discounts, gratuity, takings), a payment breakdown (cash, each card scheme, gift card, and a card total), and misc details (number of orders, average sale, refunds).
- Product sales — every item sold in the period: quantity and revenue per item, with totals for products, units sold and the item total. This reconciles to the Sales report's gross figure. A long list prints only its first 100 lines on paper, with a note pointing back to the portal for the rest — this page always shows every item.
Choosing what to see
- Report — Sales report & Product sales (the two standard reports, side by side), or any report you designed and published, such as your Z report. It shows exactly the paper the till prints.
- Venue — if you trade from more than one site: All venues, or one venue. A till prints its own venue's figures, so pick that venue to see what its tills print.
- Till — All tills, or one till. A Z report for one till says which till at the top, just as the till's own paper does.
- Period — the same choices the till offers: Today, Yesterday, This week, This month and Custom… (any start and end, up to 31 days, in the venue's own time).
Every report has a Print button that prints just the paper.
Note
With All venues picked, the figures combine every site, so totals run higher than any single till's paper. Pick a venue to match a till exactly.
Why the paper may read differently to what you remember
The till used to build these reports itself, reading only the most recent orders. They are now built by the same server for every till, reading every order in the period — so a few figures move, on purpose:
- A busy month's total may be higher than before. The old report only ever looked at the first 500 orders in the window, so a busy venue's monthly total was quietly cut short. It is now complete.
- Card totals may look smaller if customers pay partly with a gift card. That portion now shows on its own Gift card line instead of being folded into the card total — so Cash, cards and gift card add up to the same takings total, just split more precisely than before.
- "All tills" may include a little more than before. Sales that weren't attributed to a specific till used to be silently left out of the all-tills total; they now count, the same way the rest of your reports already do.
- Refunds read as zero for now. The platform doesn't yet track refund status end to end, so this report can't show a refunds figure yet — not a bug, a known gap that will fill in once it does.
- The report title reads "SALES REPORT." Some tills previously printed this as "SHIFT TOTALS" — same report, new heading.
None of this changes what you were actually paid; it changes how completely and precisely the paper accounts for it.
Printing needs the internet
The till now asks the server to build the report each time it prints, the same way it already does for bills — so a till with no internet connection cannot print a Sales report or Product sales report until it reconnects.
Designing what prints
The layout of these two specific reports (Sales report, Product sales) is fixed — there is no design editor for them, and there isn't going to be one; they stay exactly as they are. If you want to design your own report from ready data blocks, that's the Report layouts — a separate report, published alongside these two, not a way to change them. If you want to change what a receipt looks like (logo, spacing, extra lines), that lives in Receipt layouts.
