Table journey & colours

Choose the stages a table moves through on the live floor plan, and the colour each one shows in.

A table journey is the ordered set of stages a table moves through during a visit — sat down, ordered, food in the kitchen, bill asked — each with its own colour. Your live floor plan uses these stages (and colours) to show, at a glance, where every table is up to.

We start you off with a sensible default set. You can rename any stage, change its colour, reorder the list, or add and remove stages to match how your floor actually runs.

Note

Bill asked is the last stage you can configure. The moment the bill is paid, the table goes straight back to Free — there's no separate "paid" or "waiting for a wipe-down" stage to set up. If the table's actually dirty, staff will see it's free and know to check it before reseating.

Note

This page needs both Till and Table service switched on for your account. If you don't see it, ask your account manager.

From the sidebar, click Table Management, then Floor plans, then the Table journey & colours card.

The default stages

| Stage | Colour | Advances | |---|---|---| | Sat down | Sky | When they're seated | | Ordered | Violet | When the first order is taken | | In kitchen | Amber | When food is with the kitchen | | Cleared | Teal | Staff tap | | Dessert check | Pink | Staff tap | | Coffee & bill | Indigo | Staff tap | | Bill asked | Red | When they ask for the bill |

Two ways a stage advances

Every stage is either:

  • Automatic — it lights up on its own the moment something happens (a table is seated, the first order goes in, food reaches the kitchen, or the bill is asked for). Each of these four signals can only drive one stage in your journey.
  • Staff tap — a member of staff marks it by hand from the till, using the journey panel's "Mark" button. Use this for anything that isn't one of the four automatic signals — checking in on dessert, offering coffee, clearing plates.

Editing your journey

  1. 1

    Rename, recolour, reorder

Type a new name straight into a stage, pick one of the 12 colours below it, or drag the handle on the left to move a stage earlier or later. Reordering never changes which stage a table is currently showing — it only changes where that stage sits in the list.

  2. 2

    Add or remove a stage

Add a stage appends a new "Staff tap" stage at the end — rename and recolour it, then drag it wherever it belongs. A journey needs at least 2 stages and can have up to 12; the remove button is unavailable at the 2-stage floor.

  3. 3

    Save

Click Save in the top-right. Nothing is written until you do — if you leave this page without saving, nothing changes.

Note

Two stages can share a colour — the editor just gives you a gentle reminder, it won't stop you saving. Colour is a helpful visual cue, not the only way a stage is identified: the stage name is always shown next to it too.

Reset to default

Reset to default (top-right, next to Save) puts back the built-in stage set shown above. This also discards any unsaved edits you were making on this page. You'll be asked to confirm before anything changes.
