Testing a PAC campaign
Confirm a campaign actually shows on a terminal, and diagnose it if nothing appears.
After you set a campaign up, here's how to confirm it's actually showing on a terminal.
The test
- Leave a terminal idle. The campaign screen shows on a terminal that's waiting to take a payment — it's the idle/standby screen, not something you open by hand. So put a device into its waiting state and watch.
- Check the window. A campaign only shows during its scheduled days and times (and date range, if set). Outside that window, the terminal shows your default screen instead, or nothing special if you have no default.
A change you make here reaches idle terminals within seconds, so you don't need to restart a device to see an edit take effect.
If nothing shows, work down this list
- Is the master switch on?
- Is there a campaign scheduled for right now, or a default screen set?
- Do two campaigns overlap? The one with the higher priority wins — check you're looking at the one you expect.
- Does the campaign's screen still point at a valid URL (not a removed screen)?
